By using LED Globes, you will save up to 80% on electricity and they will last approximately 50 times longer than halogen. LED's also have a wider range of colour temperatures (warm, daylight, cool) and are much more environmentally friendly.

LED COLOUR TEMPERATURE

Warm White

Best suited for relaxing mood areas: bedrooms, lounge room or a garden. Around 3000K

Daylight

Best suited for general areas which could be both relaxing but also working areas. 4000K If unsure, 4000K will suit almost every application.

Cool White

5000+ Suitable for work areas or ultra modern areas. These bulbs give off an almost blue light and is practical for offices, warehouses, hospitals etc. 5000K can be very harsh when looked at directly but does make everything look fresher and vibrant. If your light fitting is dimmable you need dimmable bulbs. We have suggested bulb selections for you with each light fitting we sell.

MOOD LIGHTING

If you are wanting mood lighting we recommend the Carbon Filament Globe as they have a temperature of around 2000K. This is similar to a candlelight colour. They come in E14, E27, B15, B22

SIMPLIFYING GLOBE CHOICE

The E before a bulb number tells you it's a screw base The B before a bulb number tells you it's a bayonet base The number after this represents the size of the base. 14 and 15 are the thinner bases and 22 and 27 are the standard larger size base

LUMENS

This is the true indication on how bright the globe is. If you have the light on a dimmer, go overkill with the lumens, this way you can't lose. For garden LED lighting less light is better for creating ambience and for task lighting brighter is better.
